There are different control features which are embedded in Cisco Jabber 10.5 and these are:

  • Remote Call Answer/End
  • Mute/Un-mute
  • Hold/Resume
  • Conference Calls

The remote call answer/end feature can be accessed through the call control button, which will enable and answer incoming Jabber calls that are placed on the Plantronics headset. The same button will also end any active call in the headset.

Another feature is the mute/unmute, which can be activated from the headset. Since the mute state on the headset is synchronized with the one on Jabber, it can be enabled through both methods.

Can be available on some Plantronics devices, the hold/resume feature can put a call on hold while the user is simultaneously accessing another line on the device. Other incoming calls can be answered even though a call is still presently active with the use of the hold function. User can toggle between the held call by also using the same function.

The Plantronics plugin also support the Cisco Jabber’s conference calls features, where call can be directly answered, dropped, muted and unmuted, and etc. from the headset.

Vice President, Strategic Alliances at Plantronics, Michael Gjerstad said, “We are pleased to receive another certification from Cisco as it shows our continued commitment to provide Jabber users with a superior voice experience. As collaboration continue to rise, within enterprise environment, Plantronics will enable better communication with our broad portfolio of audio devices certified for Cisco Collaboration.”
