On the other hand, emotionally delivering a Thomas A. Dorsey song entitled “Take My Hand, Precious Lord”, which was the gospel hymn at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s funeral in 1968 sung by Mahalia Jackson, Beyoncé sang through the Sennheiser Digital 9000 wireless system, while wearing an ethereal white gown, and being surrounded by 12 men of choir and a church organ. Sennheiser Digital 9000 was able to capture and resonate Beyoncé’s heavenly voice.
Stephen Curtin, Beyoncé’s FOH Engineer, admits to appreciate the ultra-wide frequency spectrum of the Digital 9000 as well as its ability to support the dynamic and powerful voice of Beyoncé. In addition to that he also said, “Distortion is just something we have never experienced with the SKM 9000, and with the digital HD transmission, you are not losing anything at all. For this particular performance, she wanted to go for an old school vibe of singing in a church. I had 100 percent confidence in the Digital 9000, since we just used it on Beyoncé and Jay Z’s stadium tour, where it was rock solid. People may not be aware of this, but Beyoncé’s GRAMMY performance was right in front of the P.A. system with SPLs reaching approximately 100 dB. We ran the vocals on top of all this without any issues at all. Having that kind of control is an entirely new experience in itself.”
James Berry, Beyoncé’s Monitor Engineer is also satisfied with the SKM 9000 transmitter and MD 9235 capsule combination and their performance in backing up the artist. He said, “The audio was pure and clean, and represented her vocal better than any other microphone out there. With the Digital 9000, you get out exactly what you put in — and this translates to in-ear monitors, the FOH mix and the broadcast world.”

Stephen Curtin, said, “We called up Sennheiser and asked if they could send a unit out, and before we knew it we had one on the ground with a complete microphone package. To be able to get a wireless system of that caliber so quickly was a great example of the support we received.”
The last GRAMMYs Awards was broadcasted through CBS over 25 million viewers. Ranking as 2014-2015 Biggest Social Entertainment Program by Nielsen Social, GRAMMYs with over one million impressions and thus alighting the social media sphere.
