Sennheiser formally launched the Evolution Wireless D1 at the 2015 NAMM Show last January 22, 2015. The Sennheiser Evolution Wireless D1 is one of the best methods, where bands could go wireless in the easiest way possible. A digital wireless microphone systems range, it is ideal for both vocals and instruments. Both its receivers and transmitters are capable of selecting the most suitable transmission frequencies and automatically pair them. In addition to that, its systems can synchronize themselves automatically.
Sennheiser Product Manager Martin Fischer believes that the Evolution Wireless D1 is capable of taking the complexity out of being wireless and help you make music in an instant.
Some of its best features include:
- It is user-friendly and easy to use.
- It has license-free 2.4 GHz transmission with intelligent channel management.
- Its quality audio is over the top.
- It has channel coordination and adaptive transmission power.
- Great powering and control options commands the system.

It is user-friendly and easy to use.
Normally, bands have to worry themselves over three elements, which are:
- Frequency setting
- Matching transmitters and receivers
- Getting the gain right
With Sennheiser Evolution Wireless D1, bands will be worry-free. The D1 can easily do all three tasks for them. In fact, Product Manager Fischer is confident that all the bands needed to do is turn the system on and everything will automatically work for them. The wireless link will be stabilized at the right levels, instantly.
It has license-free 2.4 GHz transmission with intelligent channel management.
Not needing to register, it being license-free, users get to save money and use the bandwidth for free. Capable of seamlessly hopping from one frequency to another, in case of interference, Sennheiser Evolution Wireless D1 receiver continuously scans FR environment and thus, allowing its co-existence with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and other 2.4GHz—it operating too in the 2,400 to 2,483.5 MHz range. Fischer said that the continuous checking of the 2.4 GHz in the environment will help a lot in maintaining optimal performance.
Evolution Wireless D1 has two channels embedded in it, which are:
- Actual Audio Transmission Channel
- Redundant Back-up Channel
Having two channels will provide time diversity and frequency, and thus, increasing the reliability of the transmission through diverse fast-switching antenna. This helps protect the radio microphone and receiver wireless link, according to Fisher.
Its quality audio is over the top.
Ensuring an excellent quality audio through employing aptX Live® codec, Sennheiser Evolution Wireless D1 has wide dynamics over the entire range of audio frequency in several elements, including:
- Vocals
- Speech
- Instruments
The D1 has a low 3.9 millisecond overall latency, which helps maintain high quality levels through setting the microphone sensitivity automatically. This low overall latency is ideal with the combination of wireless monitors.
Evolution Wireless D1 menu control gives access to several audio effects, including:
- A 7-band graphic equalizer
- Low-cut filter
- Automatic gain control
- De-esser
Embedded with the dynamic evolution microphone heads, the Evolution Wireless D1 vocal systems can be used together with acclaimed series’ condenser capsules.
It has channel coordination and adaptive transmission power.
Can automatically coordinate themselves, the Sennheiser Evolution wireless D1 Instrument System has receivers, which can accommodate at most 15 channels in the RF environment and do the synchronization themselves. In addition to that, it is able to stabilize the signal needed for the RF output power. And its transmitter adjusts with the work of the receiver, depending on the requested power of the system.
Sennheiser Product Manager Martin Fischer said, “This feature not only increases the range if, for example, the singer moves further away from the receiver but it also saves battery power in those instances where the transmitter is very close to the receiver.”
Great powering and control options command the system.
With lithium-ion packs that are rechargeable through a docking charger of USB, the Evolution Wireless D1 Transmitters use either rechargeable “accupacks” or the standard batteries. Its remaining battery life can be found out in its receiver and transmitter. In addition, its systems can also be managed by Apple® or Android® devices using a dedicated app.
Sennheiser Evolution Wireless D1 series have both headmic and lavalier systems in addition to its vocal and instruments systems. It can either be customized or come in complete all-in systems. And by March 2015, the Evolution Wireless D1 will be in all local music stores.
